- ✅ You are purchasing four dormant cuttings of the seedless Che fruit tree (Maclura tricuspidata), a member of the mulberry family. Each cutting measures 10-12 inches long and has an average thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. These cuttings are easy to root and are sent without leaves or roots.
- ✅ Cuttings are sent wrapped in wet media and plastic during dormancy (November through May) to ensure freshness.
- ✅ Hardy in U.S.D.A. zones 5b-9, this self-fertile variety does not require a male tree for fruit production. If a male tree is nearby, pollination will result in seeded fruit, which is undesirable for seedless Che. The maroon-red, 1/2-inch fruit has a sweet flavor, often compared to figs with hints of watermelon. The tree is fast-growing and reaches 10-30 feet tall and up to 25 feet wide, though pruning can maintain a smaller size.
