As many of you know, my son Jani plays in a band called Caspian (http://caspianmusic.net) – Caspian recently finished a short, three week tour covering France, Spain, Belgium and Germany – the bands return date coincided with my younger son Evan, both arriving in the Boston area on the same days. Bonnie and I embarked on a short road trip to visit them both and see the local sights in the Boston and Beverly MA.

Of course I had to check out the local bar scene, my new favorite dive bar in Beverly MA is the Lucky Dog. I love the way they blacked out “sports bar” on their outdoor billboard as the bar is as far away from being a sports bar as Gunther’s is.

$2 pint PBRs during happy hour and a jukebox that boast 16 songs for five bucks made for a great time.

Unlike Gunther’s, nice bartenders : – )
